QT industrial automation
We created this light and clean Qt Industrial Automation animation for Qt Group. It was again as smooth and fluent to work with them as the loT factory technology running in the final result. We truly respect Qt Group’s cutting-edge technologies that make a real impact on the world around us as well as the long cooperation we’ve had with them.Â

DESIGN
Designing the animation had a few important goals. First, the automation facility had to be generic, because filming a real automation facility would bee to much of a hassle. Second, we needed to implement Qt’s real user interfaces from their Design Studio software. Finally, we had to make everything look really smooth because we wanted to demonstrate Qt’s design focus in their products.
The animation was done using 3D graphics in order to create a visually pleasing and easy-to-read environment to showcase Qt’s solutions for Industrial Automation.
We used 3D graphics to design an imaginary automation facility that does not necessarily underline any specific industry.
The user interfaces (UIs) are based on actual real UI graphics that end users can create using Qt’s Design Studio software. We were able to implement them seamlessly to the Qt Industrial Automation animation.

We sweetened the UI animations just a touch when needed to highlight a specific event in the video.
PRE-PRODUCTION: STYLEFRAMES
We also produced a set of styleframes for the production as we were studying the look of Qt Industrial Automation video. The styleframes had our own placeholder UI graphics.
Our initial designs had a bit more disco to them, but together with the client we decided to go for a more realistic look and a narrower color palette.
We eventually made the augmented reality parts of the animation slightly less warp speed and more connected to the actual environment.
We use styleframes as a part of our production process. They are an essential tool to make sure we have understood the client’s needs exactly.
At the end we made the facility visually as clean and simple as possible, because we were not replicating a production facility, but communicating important functionalities of Qt’s software and solutions for the automation industry.Â
SOCIAL MEDIA ASSETS
We also produced a square version of the video for specific media purposes – as well as a set of sweet high resolution still images!
